Merchant Discounts
![*]() The discount rate is the percentage of each
transaction that the processing company charges to handle
the transaction for you. This is the fixed percentage
amount that is deducted from the purchase cost. The lower
discount rates are for retail establishments while the
higher are for Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO) and Internet-based
businesses. Our discount rates are exceptionally low,
at just 1.69% for retail (face to face) merchants, and
2.49% for Internet and mail order merchants. High risk
businesses may have to pay slightly more.
The only cost in most cases is only about 5 cents per
check. The best part is most service providers offer the
check software for free (up to $300 value).
